   1986 4.3 v6, which alternator is a good replacement for my boat with that year and engine??

   235 OMC

   Suburban

   OMC, Mercruiser or Volvo power? I think the OMC and Volvo came with a Delco alternator as standard equipment. You might check online for Sierra Marine parts as they should have the correct USCG approved marine replacement. Most of them were around 45 Amps.
