My original cover was starting to show its age, and I wanted to have the cover look as good as the boat. iBoats had a Labor day sale (54% off covers and an additional 10% off for labor day), so I ordered one. Jet black to match my bimini cover. The order process was easy, but I would not recommend ordering the add on kit that has a pole, additional cincher and pole vent. I would order the adhesive snaps for poles however. Shipping box was kinda lame, and had tears, but the cover was intact. the cover fit perfectly, and is reinforced where it needs to be, and has extra protection where it lays on the windshield. It has a pocket for the ladder (which I have removed) but is the place my original cover was getting thin. The cover is nice and thick (9.25oz) and repels water well. Here is what it looks like:
Was it a custom fit cover? How did they get the alignment of the bimini support pole holes to be exact?
The iBoats web site does a pretty good job of delineating the different years of hulls were the same, or had changes. This is not a "custom" cover per se. Westland (where the cover came from) was who made the original cover I had, and therefore has all the specs and measurements. I was pleasantly surprised that the cover wrapped around the bimini supports, as my old cover only has cut outs.
Looks great! I ordered a semi-custom Carver Sunbrella cover to put on mine and I'm not real impressed with the fit, seems to be a bit wide in the bow area and a little bit too short IMO. It works but could be better. I need to reinforce a few areas around the deck hinges on the window frame and the ski tow eye as well, they are pulled pretty tight.
I went with the Westland because they were the OEM supplier. I figured they should have all the right specs.
