Keep these guidelines in mind when starting a new post.

#1 Include your boat's specific model, year of production, engine and drive. Better yet, keep your profile up to date with your boat's info. For example, 1997 Cobalt 232 with 502 Mag/Bravo I.

#2 Start with a descriptive title. For example, a title of Engine Overheating will get more views and better responses than a subject line that says Need Help. Or, Where to Buy New Cockpit Cover vs. Advice Needed.

#3 Give as much detail about your problem as possible. For example, if you get an engine alarm, tell us what RPM, if it's only when the engine is hot/cold, etc.

#4 Check back and follow up on your own posts and answer any clarifying questions that others may ask. The back-and-forth dialog is helpful in getting to root of your question but it can also help others who are reading the thread.

#5 Follow up and let us know how things turned out. The outcomes, even if the suggestions didn't work, may help another members who went through the same thing.

#6 DO NOT post the same questions in different categories. Find the forum that best matches your question and post once. Most of us use the "New Posts" link and will see your post no matter where it's posted.

#7 Please post a thank you. If someone helped you in the real world you would say “Thanks” right? Please do the same here.
